It’s 1996. Josh and Emma live next door to each other and have been best friends forever. When Josh gives Emma a disk to load on her new computer, she discovers something called ‘Facebook’. What is it? Why is there a page with her name on it? 15 years in the future! When she shows Josh and they find a page for him too, they dig deeper. Suddenly they have access to their future lives and find they can alter them by changing things in the present. But is it the right thing to do? Do they like the futures they have seen for themselves?
Set in a time when Facebook wasn’t even heard of, cellphones were a luxury and the internet was still new, this story had me hooked from the first page. It has realistic characters, great friendships and just a hint of ‘Pride & Predjudice’ with Josh and Emma’s relationship battling to rise through everything and survive. Told in both viewpoints, it’s great for boys and girls.
