Finn Marsh is in trouble – again. Mr Patel has given them a class project where they have to talk about what they want to be when they grow up.
Finn puts ‘Super hero’ which makes his teacher think he is not taking it seriously. Everyone knows Finn never takes anything seriously. But if he fails this assignment he may have to redo the whole year again!
With the help of his friend Brain, (Brian) Finn does become a super hero – just not in the way we know it. When Finn’s Dad left, the family finances shrank. And when his mum said they couldn’t afford to keep sponsoring Umbaba (an African child) Finn decides to do something about it…..
This debut junior novel won the Children’s Choice and the Junior Fiction Award at the NZ Post Children’s Book Awards 2012. Great Kiwi Fiction!
