The first in a trilogy called Birthright, I’m already wanting the second book. With so many dystopian stories on the market, this one was excellent, somehow closer to where life is heading as we know it. The story has a strong ‘Godfather’ feel to it, drawing you into Anya’s thoughts and her family. This is a future where coffee and chocolate are black market items. Anya is a determined, tough character, torn between keeping her family safe and secure and the demands of her wider family, insisting she step up into her mafia father’s shoes. They want someone to lead the family into an uncertain future.
