Max and his 4 squad mates, Lukas, Abby, Sami and Lili are about to be dropped deep in the Amazon Jungle. Their mission is to find and extricate SAS soldiers thought to be captured by a legendary warlord, Oscar Juwani. He is ruthless and also thought to be kidnapping young people (after wiping their villages and all in them from the face of the earth), and training them in a private army. The cadets are soon to find out this training is built on fear, subservience and extreme violence.
Pretending to be researchers who have been lost and starving in the jungle, the cadets set off for where they think they might find their targets. It’s not long before they are in fact right where they need to be, but scared, sore, and starving. Oscar Juwani is just as evil as portrayed, with a right-hand-man walking in his master’s footsteps.
Not sure whether they will all survive this mission, let alone the caged SAS soldiers, Max and his cadet squad have to dig deep into their training for the skills needed and the courage to perform them, all the while consumed with grief and hate, and betrayal.
The sense of overpowering oppression seeps into the story early, holding the reader under its malice. The squad know what they have to do, but tight security, theft and the looming threat of more violence is ever present. This is the most gripping story yet in this thrilling series!
