Ivy loved her twin sister Scarlet dearly. She was Ivy’s opposite. Where Scarlet was brave and confident and mischevious, Ivy was shy, did as she was told and didn’t like to cause any upset. The last time Ivy saw her twin was just before she left for an exclusive boarding school. Unfortunately Ivy hadn’t passed the entrance exams. Ivy is sad she’ll never see Scarlet again, after receiving news that she had become ill and passed away.
A letter arrives for Ivy telling her she can take Scarlet’s place at the school. Little does Ivy know she will be not only taking Scarlet’s place, but becoming Scarlet herself! She has to pretend to be her sister. Pushy, loud, feisty and even rude! Confused and scared of the imposing Miss Fox who has demanded this of her, Ivy settles in to Scarlet’s old room at the school, and discovers part of a diary from Scarlet. Something’s not right about all this, and Scarlet’s words prove it.
Ivy, while pretending to be Scarlet, navigates her way through classes, Miss Fox’s beady stare, a new personality and daily life at the school, whilst she follows the clues Scarlet has left behind for her.
Missing girls, angry rivals, secrets, ballet, and the constant fear of Miss Fox’s cane drive Ivy through this 1st story in this series. Set in a boarding school, far from home in the early 1930’s where past rivalries lurk under the surface, Ivy has no idea why some of the girls dislike her so much.
What did Scarlet do or say to make them so angry? Why has she scattered her diary pages all over the school? What secrets is it hiding?
The Lost Twin is perfect for lovers of mystery, secrets and sisters. A boarding school, feuding girls, terrible teachers, midnight feasts and night time escapades, this series is definitely one to devour.
