There are many different kinds of beliefs in the world. Some people are Buddhists. Some people have a religion to be guided by. There are Muslims with the religion of Islam. There are Hindus, Christians, Judaism for Jewish people, and Sikhs. There are also Humanists, that don’t have a religion, but believe in many of the same things as religious people do. Such as being kind to others, being a good person and treating others as equals.

Each religion has different ways of prayer, places and ways to worship. There is different clothing, foods, rituals and stories shared among family and community. There are different festivals, holidays and services too.

The one thing that is the same, is that we are all people with families we love, and friends we enjoy – no matter what our beliefs.

This brightly coloured picture book explores many different beliefs and religions, through food, clothing, books we worship from and places to worship in. Showing both children and adults in daily situations and beliefs, the illustrations have explanations and speech bubbles explaining aspects of a selection of religions.

At the rear of the book is a short piece of information on the religions shown throughout the book. An excellent way to begin discussions on differences, diversity, inclusiveness, religion and acceptance of others in junior classrooms or at home.
