Words are everywhere. They mean so many things. They can be shortened, lengthened , played with and collected.
Some can be shaped into double meanings. They can be sad, happy, mysterious or ugly. Big, small, sharp, soft, words light up our days, describe, create or read the same backwards as forwards!
But most of all, words strung like spider silk into the shape of a story can take you anywhere and everywhere, filling the heart with mystery, excitement, joy and smiles.
Two children have assembled words throughout this story. Words hang out with them as they play, are sought and discovered, climbed on and lay upon, and clippered in half!
A tug of war extends a word, a mirror displays another. The children’s creativity comes in to play and imagination splashes up more.
Words can be sculptured and treasured, collected and cherished – and if placed in just the right way can create the awesome wonder of a story. A book after my own heart.
