Rabbit friends Muki and Pickles are out walking on a beautiful sunny day, talking about the very best cake they’ve ever had.
Muki is spotting insects in the forest from his insect guidebook, while Pickles remembers her very favourite cakes. The only problem is she can’t decide on just one.
And then they spot it. The last juicy peach left on a peach tree. But it’s on the other side of a stream. How will they cross it?
Muki has a book about building a raft which will be just what they need. They soon get to work.
Later…. just as they are launching their very fine raft, they see that they are too late for the peach. Oh no!
On the way home they think about their day together and know that all is not lost.
They now know how to tie knots, how to work together, and how awesome books can be to help with a problem. Not to mention an even better bonus waiting for them on their doorstep.
Just as the best adventures spring from a simple idea, so does Muki and Pickles’ afternoon project. A piece of fruit out of reach gets these young rabbit friends thinking about how to solve the problem. Using their own knowledge and with the help of books, they work together, not only finding a solution, but helping others in the process.
At the back of the book are clear illustrations on how to tie four common knots, and how to bake an Upside Down Peach Cake. Yum!
Not only does this beautiful hardback have a unique, full page, colourful illustration style, there is a wee flying creature to be found on every page. Can you find them all?
