There’s a new fluffy baby on Royalburn Station!
“The bundle has a fluffy coat,
all patchy brown and white.
It has golden eyes and tiny horns,
and says MEEEHHHH with all its might.”
Mama and Marvellous Marvin are pleased to welcome this new baby to the farm, quickly naming this cute baby goat, Milly.
Milly settles in quickly and her adventurous spirit is soon taking her all over the farm. She loves jumping! Milly can jump over walls and right over the farm gate.
She’s a little sneaky thing too, finding her way into the laundry to chew on some socks or into the vegetable patch, where she really shouldn’t be!
Soon she has new wooly friends to play with, even if she isn’t sure about sharing her own bed with them. Milly loves exploring the farm with them but would really like someone else who likes to jump as much as she does.
Mama surprises her one day with a tiny fluffy bundle called – Tilly!
This is the third picture book by celebrity cook, entrepreneur, food writer and tv personality Nadia Lim, about animals on Royalburn Station in Otago New Zealand. The book begins with photographs of baby animals around the station along with family shots.
Featuring chicken Marvellous Marvin from the first two books in this picture book series, Mischievous Milly tells the tale of a naughty but adorable wee goat joining the family, exploring the farm, making friends and then meeting another wee goat just like her. I’m sure it won’t be long before we see wee Tilly in her own picture book adventure.
Acclaimed illustrator Fifi Colston has brought the animals to life throughout the pages in her gorgeous illustrations of the action around the farm. The expressions on the animal’s faces show mischief, consternation, determination and cheekiness.
There are more animal and family photos after the story, along with a special Nadia Lim recipe for Strawberry Jellies – perfect for summer parties!
