Hannah blamed the others, but she skipped school assembly too. There was going to be an author visiting, talking about his books. They were supposed to be spooky, but Mabel reckoned they wouldn’t be scary at all. Brian thought sneaking up to the school attic would be spookier, and Lisa suggested a spooky game.
But it turned out to be way more than spooky. Mabel, Brian and Lisa left that attic a little freaked out but perfectly fine. Hannah was changed forever.
Things began to happen to her. She was pushed… by no one. Dragged… by no one. But her scraped knees told the real story. Then there was the accident in Science class. Hannah begins to believe she is cursed. Nightmares. Accidents in public places and when she seeks advice from someone who knows about these things… more terrible things.
Hannah has been documenting everything in her diary. After a particularly bad day, someone begins writing between her lines. Something is answering her questions about her tipped upside down life. Something nasty…
Deliciously spooky and fun at the same time, Read at your own risk begins…Day 1 Monday Night.
This is Hannah’s diary as she documents what happened to her after playing a game with her friends while skipping school assembly. Full of pictures and doodles and scribbles in black and white and red, Hannah tells her story.
There are speech bubbles, clear text and notes among the diary entries, and it’s particularly creepy when another entity starts to answer Hannah’s questions inside her diary.
The pages look like the inside of a lined, spiral bound diary with margins, bringing even more authenticity to reading someone’s secret thoughts. But there is a warning from Hannah, and an exquisite twist. Can you see it before it’s too late?
