A grand sandcastle stands upon the beach.
A crab sits upon a sand throne inside, looking out across his beach domain. Another beach animal slides in low and quiet, but right behind them are bouncing sand hoppers and scuttling hermit crabs!
The sandcastle moat hides another visitor and the nearby rockpool is kicking off in a kiwi critter concert!
All too soon, the incoming tide creeps closer, stealing the sandcastle back into the sea. Tomorrow is another day for an even bigger sand sculpture.
The joy of this book begins as soon as you open the cover. Kiwi critters smile from the page alongside a kiwi kid enjoying the beach.
Bilingual (English / Māori), and in rhyme, There’s a Crab in my Castle is in full colour, as one creature is introduced after another into the story.
In the rear of the book are illustrations of each animal portrayed in the tale, with an interesting titbit of info about each one.
This is a great book to have on hand in every Kiwi beachside bach, to enjoy again and again every summer.
