Pip is still reeling after watching a murder right in front of her. The sounds of gunshots pound in herAs Good As Dead Book Review Cover head and her heart months later, and the feeling of blood on her hands is almost constant. She’s had therapy. Her family and friends ask her if she’s okay over and over. She tells them she’s fine, but fine she is not. Daily runs help with the burning rage inside her, but she’s had to source outside help for her constant insomnia.

An unexpected verdict for an important court case was also a shock, and one she still struggles to comprehend. She lashes out the only way she knows how – through her podcast, and is now being sued for defamation because of it.

The Good Girls Guide to Murder podcasts have brought her fame and followers, but there are plenty of cranks and trolls too. One begins to stand out, sending her the same message over and over again.

“Who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears?”

She turns to what she is good at – investigating, and uncovers clues about her stalker that point to past crimes pinned on someone else. Out for another run one day, she nearly becomes a crime statistic herself.

Her stalker didn’t realise two things though. Pip is still brimming with rage. She is simply bursting with frustration at the police, the justice system and the people who evaded it. At first Pip just wants to survive her attacker. Then she wants REVENGE. And she gets it, bit by bit, step by step, clue by clue. Those that have wronged her will pay for what they have done.

Wow! What a thrilling finale to this trilogy. The town of Little Kilton is the setting for this trilogy, and the residents have been oblivious at who and what lives among them – until Pip Fitz-Amobi begins her true crime podcast.

The three novels of this trilogy are closely linked, but the first A Good Girls Guide to Murder can be read on its own. Once you’ve read the 2nd, Good Girl, Bad Blood however, you just have to read this finale.

Pip’s mental and physical struggles are poured out on the page, and I could almost feel the blood on my hands when she did. My heart pounded when hers raced and my hopes for her revenge plot to prevail were in my clenched fists and gritted teeth!

It’s far from plain sailing though. Again and again, Pip and Ravi think the game is up, even after being methodical with Pip’s plan. The tension rises throughout the book, to the point where she is balanced on a knife edge of discovery, or freedom from it all.

I always love a revenge plot and the set up for this one through the three books is slow and steady and sooo deserving, it makes it all the more sweeter but also scarier. Keep reading to the very last sentence and all will be revealed.

Absolutely brilliant and most deserving of all the accolades and awards this trilogy has received!
