Unfortunately Monsters are now a common thing all around Earth. One group who go up against these often incredibly dangerous andBarnstormers Vol 1 Book Review Cover destructive beasts are the Barnstormers. Taking to flight in their modified bi-planes planes from The Great War, Roscoe Adams and Clyde Turner have made it into a business – Barnstormers!

But Roscoe has got way too many jobs for just him, his girlfriend Anna and Clyde to manage, and they’re not sure how to continue with the work load. A break for the day drops the answer right in their laps – along with a Sorcerer with a God complex, Monsters aplenty, and the most evil one of them all, ready to suck souls from Earth like a giant vacumm cleaner!

A special compass has been stolen, able to open a portal to catastrophe, bringing the destruction of every city, and the total annihilation of the planet. Roscoe shrugs his shoulders at the danger, believing he’s the man for the job – but this time he has bitten off way more than he can chew, or shoot at, or even hope to conquer. Where is plan B?

This first Graphic Novel in this new series is over-flowing with action, giant monsters, guns, harpoons, and incredibly courageous (or crazy) bi-plane pilots proving their stuff in the sky. The interactions between characters are authentic and funny, considering the danger they are in – think Indiana Jones – and the outcomes far from perfect.

The lettering / speech bubbles etc are easy to understand flowing just like real dialogue, and the full colour frames never inhibit the action. Fantastic.
