Billy and his friends Anna, Jimmy and Andy have worked out a plan to be able to spend as much time in Waterfall Woods as they like in the upcoming summer holidays. Before they even get there, they receive a message from their magical sprite friend Basil. They are needed urgently. Something terrible is happening!
They arrive in the hidden magical land inside the woods to see a woman all in red surrounded by robots. Who is she and what is she doing in Waterfall Wood?
Before long, their Giant friend Bilfred, who they freed from a walled garden in their last adventure, is forced to face the scary red lady. She’s captured Andy and Bilfred can’t stand the thought of him getting hurt by her or her robots.
They wanted to explore the woods on their summer holidays, and now they are forced deeper than ever before in the search for their friend.
During the rescue they learn how to fight the robots and how evil the scary red lady really is. Using a staff she carries with her, she can travel anywhere in the world and take what she wants, no matter the cost. The friends vow to stop her, but now they must save Bilfred too.
Working together with their Waterfall Wood fantastical friends, they learn that Bilfred is not the only giant locked up in a garden, and they must try and save them all.
The second part in this exciting magical adventure series by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, this sequel to Billy’s Giant Adventure is even more thrilling than the first!
The bedtime story continues as a father tells his children of his adventures years before. They can’t wait to hear more.
In this episode Billy and his friends meet a true villain in Scary Red – a name they have given to a positively evil woman who has committed crimes both in Waterfall Wood and around our own world.
She is just a cog in an even more heinous organisation that values only youth and complete control, with a total disregard of anyone who gets in their way. The tension rises through this episode leaving readers wondering about what they will face next.
A fast paced, often funny, magical adventure. Full of yummy snacks and delicious sounding meals (well it IS Jamie Oliver), and some life advice I can imagine Mr Oliver sharing with his children outside of books too.
An entertaining read which hooks readers early. Really looking forward to the next in the series.
