A young girl begins to play her guitar. Like those who spoke out in the past against injustices, she is looking to make a better world. Beginning small, byChange Sings Book Review Cover tidying up her neighbourhood, she invites another to join her. Music is what attracts them, but it is also the desire to help that brings others to her cause.

She reaches out to those in need, playing music all the way. Some resent her help, but music and an outstretched hand portray her message to the wary. More and more children join in her band of helpers and givers and they spread far and wide, offering connections, and kindness.

Her merry band of children play their music loud and proud, gradually building connections of change all around them. She might have started small, but the change she wants to see and be, can now be heard and seen. She invites the reader to join the change.

Penned by the youngest Inaugural Poet ever, Change Sings is an anthem of Hope, Change, Kindness and Possibility. A young girl reaches out to others, finds solutions for problems and takes action to fix them. It is simple, powerful and every line of Change Sings is full of meaning.

Kindness, Empathy, Courage and Music bring people together to help one another, to make a small change that grows exponentially. Change can be simple, beginning small.

The colour illustrations portraying a young girl’s mission for change show her approach the unsure, the hungry, the frail and the wary. Every page is a double-page spread with the poem below or above them, leaving the illustrations uninterrupted.
