Charlie Star is an anxious wee fellow, and to help fight off these feelings he has built daily rituals to help him cope. From when he wakes, he does his jobs, his tricks, and his walk past the (on the same side everyday) oak tree. If he does everything the same, and in the same order, his day works out just fine.

One morning, he learns his friend is in trouble. There is no time to complete all his rituals. He’s needed in a hurry! Charlie is the star of the day, helping out in the emergency. He feels so good, the rituals are forgotten. When he realises, he can see that they weren’t needed in the first place.

A lovely story told in the point of view of a dachshund. Sweet.
