Monsieur Charles’ Circus has arrived in a new town called Brokem and hopes are high for sell out audiences. Monsieur Charles is looking increasingly worried about their future and everyone is working hard every day.

Skye is keen to be part of the show but has been told she’s not ready. Waiting another year is upsetting but all she can do is keep practising and wishing for her time to come.

The traitor amongst them is being pressured into causing more disharmony and even accidents if necessary to make the Circus fail and eventually quit all together.

When an accident does happen, Skye blames herself and her wishes to be part of the circus and the tension and stress the performers are feeling steps up another notch.

Meanwhile Kestrel is determined to keep searching for clues. Somehow the latest clue seems strange. Is someone setting them up?
