Kaz Brekker and his crew are bristling with anger and out for revenge – no matter what.

This revenge is just added to the writhing pile Kaz has been stewing on for years. He has been wronged from the moment he and his older brother arrived in the city of Ketterdam years before, and this revenge is what has driven him ever since.

His loyal gang of Jesper, Wylan, Nina, Inej, and Matthias are again at his side, listening to Kaz’s new plans. They use their separate skills to expedite them but there are other’s plans and plots standing in their way. Again and again, Kaz has to rethink things to achieve his objectives.

It’s only when his gang realise their own strengths do Kat’s plans become possible.

Complicated, Intense, Solid and Gripping – Crooked Kingdom is the final part of the Six of Crows duology. I was drawn back into the squalor of Ketterdam, the loyalty of Kaz’s gang, the rawness of their battles and also the backstory driving their actions.

This series isn’t just to be consumed – it consumed me, its rich description and characterisation making me feel like I was standing alongside them and their all-empowering sense of (their kind of ) justice. Brilliant!
