Danny lives in a gypsy caravan with his dad who has his own petrol station. Danny adores his dad and is shocked to wake up very early one morning to find his father gone. When his father returns he tells Danny that he has been poaching pheasants in Hazel Wood owned by the despised wealthy landowner not far from the town they live near.

Danny is surprised but eventually says it’s ok for him to go again. But this time, his Dad doesn’t return. Danny is suddenly on a night adventure to save his Dad and help with a plan to outwit the terrible owner of Hazel’s wood.

A wonderful story. Action, humour and even a tear or two.
