Phoebe is small with grey feathers. She feels invisible and would love to be colourful and noticed!

A visit to Zelda’s popular forest beauty salon is the first step to Phoebe’s transformation.

Zelda offers her new wings, different crests, tails and chest feathers. Despite not being able to fly any longer with her heavy new plumage, Phoebe is exhilarated with her new look.

But walking everywhere is tricky and one day Phoebe loses her footing…. and the result of her tumble down through the branches is just what she’s been looking for.

We all feel invisible at some stage, and this book tackles those feelings for children. Often, just being yourself is the answer all along. Rod Clement’s drawings of birds and the nature around them against white backgrounds are wonderful.
