Archie lies in bed, thinking about going to a brand new school the following day.Go Away Worry Monster Book Review Cover

Worry Monster has been lying in wait for this very opportunity. He springs into action, feeding Archie’s worries.

The more Archie worries, the bigger Worry Monster gets. Archie knows his mum can help, but this time he decides to fight Worry Monster on his own. He thinks hard and remembers the steps his mum told him.

He takes a deep breath and one by one, he throws answers at the Worry Monster’s wailing worries. After each fact, Archie grows bolder and braver until he finally stands up and banishes the Worry Monster.

“Go away, Worry Monster!”

With gorgeous colours in pastel on black, the illustrations in Go Away, Worry Monster take the reader into Archie’s bedroom the night before he attends a new school. As the Worry Monster feeds Archie’s insecurities, it fills more and more of the page – bright and bold. Archie soon takes its place as he puts into practice ways to fight his fears, taught to him by his mum.

Go Away, Worry Monster uses tried and true strategies currently used by psychologists to assist children in putting aside their anxiety, worries and fears. This Hardback picture book is a non-confronting way to approach any worries a small child may have about new situations in school or at home.
