Pip Fitz Amobi has resolved a five year old crime, putting the correct villain in prison and proving a local teen didn’t murder his girlfriendGood Girl, Bad Blood Book Review Cover and then kill himself. Her resulting true crime podcast has been incredibly popular since.

She swears to herself and her parents, that she will never put herself under that sort of pressure or danger again, but it seeks her out anyway.

A man has gone missing. Jamie is 24, lives at home, is quiet and shy and the brother of one of Pip’s best friends. When he asks her to help, she says no at first. She’ll talk to the police she knows, but that’s all she can do. When the police say Jamie is an adult and they can’t help before 48 hours is up anyway, she knows she can’t walk away.

Jamie’s father thinks he’s run away again, not supporting his upset wife, and younger son in their efforts to find Jamie. Pip works with them however, slowly, methodically, and using her podcast fame to announce Jamie’s disappearance, all the while feeling every hour pass like a punch. Where is Jamie?

A name pops up out of their searches. Again and again it appears. Who is this person? Why was Jamie talking to her? Things begin to slot into place for Pip, one small piece at a time. Out of nowhere another crime appears – this one famous nationwide for its ferocity. Someone is hunting for a stranger, as Pip is hunting for Jamie. When their paths cross, her world explodes.

Still set in her little town, I wondered how another book could stack up against the first in this series – A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. But Good Girl, Bad Blood had me just as hooked. Intrigued more and more as catfishing, Fitbits, Instagram, and past atrocities are poured into the mix, I was just as shocked as Pip when the true villain shows themselves.

I really like the way that the facts and information collected is gone over in Pip’s mind and recordings, allowing the reader to try and unravel the clues along with her. Sometimes I would gasp, realising something, and I even stopped in my tracks (I was listening to the audiobook) when something shocking happened.

This time Pip is left with the aftermath under her skin, and I’m not sure how she’s going to purge it. The next book in the series, As Good As Dead is promising to be a doozy in this thrilling trilogy.
