Luna Grace – Girl From Outer Space

It’s been a long trip to Earth from Luna Grace’s planet in the Twinkle Path Galaxy. With her parents, baby brother and pet Moon Cat namedLuna Grace - Girl from Outer Space Book Review Cover Twizzle, Luna is keen to get to their new home.

Finding it plain white, they decide immediately to make it look like their home on Starbright as soon as possible. But first they must rest. Twizzle and Luna Grace have grown up together and can communicate. Luna has to explain to Twizzle that the cats are different on Earth. Some are very large and unfriendly, so she better stay in for the night.

The next morning brings Luna Grace’s first day of school and anxiety with it. Will she fit in? Dad is nervous too, but Mum is calm as usual and smooths any worries….

“Being different is not the same as not fitting in,’ said Mum.

Even with her special talents, strange hair and clever Moon Cat along for the day, Luna Grace’s first day on Earth is out of this world.

Luna Grace – Girl from Outer Space is the first book in a series for emerging chapter book readers. With its pages introducing the main characters at the front and rear of the book, readers meet Luna and her family, and then the new friends she makes at her new school.

Luckily Luna looks just like a human, so she’s not too different, but her worries about fitting in are universal – especially on the first day in a new school.

The family’s special gifts are entertaining, and a full page spread explains them further in the back of the book, along with an excerpt from the next book in the series – Luna Grace – Girl from Outer Space (Sea Safari).

The font is larger than a standard chapter book, but the chapters are a good length for emerging readers to feel like they’re making good reading progress.

Coloured illustrations are on every page, breaking up text and entertaining readers as they experience Luna Grace’s introduction to Earth. The gadgets this extraterrestrial family have at their fingertips will equally delight!
