Book Review – My Ball is Broken

A dog stares at his favourite red rubber ball.My Ball is Broken Book Review Cover

It’s not doing what it should be doing. It’s just lying there… broken.

It looks perfectly rounds and rolls perfectly fine like a ball should, but where is its bounce?

He ponders all the reasons why the ball is still. Maybe it’s scared of being stuck on the roof again, or maybe it has a tummy-ache?

This dog tries everything to give the ball back its bounce. When he realises why the bounce is missing, he can finally see that’s it’s not a huge problem after all!

My Ball is Broken is a hardback, humorous, full colour picture book about a problem that seems huge, but really isn’t.

As an owner of a highly anxious English Bulldog, author-illustrator Rob Graves-Morris wants to highlight how playing with your dog is beneficial to their anxiety and health.

Telling the story from a dog’s point of view helps the reader appreciate the underestimated positives of play, and provides lots of laughs as you see his thought processes.
