A little girl tells the reader about an early morning rise, before the sun is even up. Her Dad drives the car to a special place and they park with many others. It’s always cold. They wait, and sing and listen to a lonely bugle. Soon a march begins.

It is full of people who have fought in wars. They march to remember their fallen comrades and the many that didn’t come home. It is sombre but Grandad is proud to be part of the march every year. And when he can’t, the little girl vows to march for him.

Simple and informative at the same time. A prelude to the story explains Anzac Day and its soldiers from Australia and New Zealand, and the special march that remembers them.
