Finally, the day Ned the Hamster has been waiting for has arrived.

It’s the day of the Great Garden Hamster Race, and Ned has lots of competition from all over the world. Ned has been training hard and is sure he can win. And they’re off……!

Focused on nothing but the race, Ned ignores everything and everyone on his way – even those who call out for a little help.

Suddenly it’s Ned who needs help and it comes from a surprising source. This kindness given to him makes him think for a bit. Maybe he should he be a little more kind too? Putting the race aside, Ned pays forward the kindness given to him.

When he’s ready to rejoin the race, he’s sure he will be last. He soon discovers there is more kindness to come.
