With Decima and her brother Melville Underwood ruling the British Underlibrary, things have gotten even worse. Tilly Pages and her familyPages & Co 3 - Map of Stories Book Review Cover
can’t believe anyone would support the Underwoods and their new rules, but they seem to have so many librarians on their side.

Learning that the Underwoods are planning to make it illegal for any children to bookwander ever again, is just too much to bear and Tilly and her best friend Oskar strive to do something about it. Oskar has only just begun to master his bookwandering and he and Tilly both know that Tilly has some amazing skills no other book wanderer has. Bookwandering together is one of their most amazing experiences ever.

Tilly’s uniqueness also makes her someone the Underwoods need to help them in their evil schemes, but they’ll have to get through Tilly’s mum and grandparents first. One night Tilly’s mum tells her to get ready for a trip, and Oskar is along for the ride.

Little do they know they are to be left an an airport and are to travel alone to America – in search for the Archivists everyone has told Tilly, don’t exist. With her special items found in their previous travels into fairytales, Till and Oskar piece together a map, a plan and with astounding book magic, find what they seek.

Nothing is as expected and there are more adventures, trials and new people to meet along the way, as the friends come face to face with those who are taking down the very soul of the world’s Underlibraries.

An entertaining instalment in the amazing series that is Pages & Co. If you love books and reading, you will love this series of adventures into the world of books. Pages & Co also reveals to readers a special organisation that looks after books around the world and makes it possible to go inside books of your choice.

This powerful institution has attracted evil people who want the power for themselves. Main character Tilly has learnt in previous adventures that she must trust her gut and take chances when she feels she needs to. Following her belief that the Archivists actually do exist and may be able to help stop the terrible Underwood siblings, is something she must pursue.

The result is funny, shocking, imaginative and full of twists and turns as Tilly tries to figure out who is on her side and who is on the Underwoods’.

I loved the way the narrative delved even more into story, imagination and how it is a huge part of our entire lives. How books from our childhood make up an important part of our being, and how losing that may feel.

A rollicking read. Now I’m off to search for no.4 in the series – Pages & Co (4) The Book Smugglers.
