Best mates Jake and Connor have a mission in mind. In 38 days, a brand new rollercoaster called the Steel Beast isPartners in Slime Book Review Cover opening in a local adventure park.

There is one problem – well more like 110 of them. A day pass to the park costs $110.00 each and they have already spent their savings on other things.

Their minds are whirling with ideas to make some money fast, but they are getting nowhere. Until…. that’s it! SLIME! It’s already popular at school. All they have to do is make theirs a little different then sell it to slime-loving kids at lunchtimes.

The fact that Jake’s younger sister Paige is already doing this, kicks off an even fiercer rivalry between them. They’ve been at war for ages now, and Jake is keen to pay Paige back for many instances of trouble she’s dropped him in lately. This rivalry gets messy, expensive and embarrassing – but nothing can stand in the boy’s way of riding the Steel Beast.

At least until things go terribly weird, Jake’s turtle is as big as a Labrador, neon poo is everywhere, and Paige’s life is on the line!

A funny tale of best mates, sibling rivalry, an eccentric but brilliant uncle, and slime with a life of its own. Part money making plan, part revenge plot and quickly a scientific nightmare, Jake and Connor’s antics had me grinning all the way through the book.

Tension builds as days are counted down at the beginning of each chapter, and their dollars saved goes up and down along the way.
