9 yr old Molly is trying to write a plot plan for a pirate story in her class at school. She’s having problems with her spelling and her notes to her BFF Chloe aren’t getting the answers she needs. Her awful, coffee loving, and kid hating, (she’s not 100% sure of this but he sure acts like it) teacher Mr Stilton gives her a huge dictionary to use.
Instead of finding the word, she finds a cute hand drawn picture of a little witch. Intrigued, she cuts it out and hides it in her desk’s pen pot.
With everyone heads down writing their pirate plots out, Molly suddenly begins getting scribbled notes, from someone called Notes. Who is Notes?
Things go from weird to worse for Molly when Chloe tells her she’s leaving their school (Dungfields) the very next day for another closer to her home. Molly is now freaked out AND feeling sad about losing Molly.
More trouble follows, but so does something magical! This mix of magic and mayhem is a lot to handle, but maybe, just maybe, Molly can hold her friendship, hide her new secret and smoosh them all together to fix things.
Full of black and white ‘scribbles’, funny text, notes and illustrations, this story is perfect for 7 year olds and up.
It’s set in a classroom and explores friendship, rivalries, terrible teachers and their detentions, all mixed up in a magical meeting that main character Molly can hardly believe!
This is the first in a series, and I’ll definitely be looking for the next crazy episode.
