Amber is enjoying a much needed break in a small seaside town with Irene at her side. It’s not long before they meet Eden and his mum, the local lighthouse keeper.
Eden’s family have been fisherman for generations, but Eden is more into looking after sea creatures not catching them. When local dolphins go missing and then strand on the beach, it’s not only Eden who’s worried. He tells Amber that something strange is happening in a restricted no-go zone in their bay.
Amber becomes even more concerned when she finds dead insects on the beach, and a whale strands itself. The locals report that strandings have happened repeatedly over recent weeks. What is going on in this bay?
Amber knows she has to help not only her beloved insects of the area, but the local marine mammals too. She also sees herself in Eden who is struggling with many changes in his life, so wants to help this young boy.
Together with Irene, Eden and insects of every size and shape, she discovers what is causing all the problems under the waves.
Meanwhile, Reggie (Firefighter) is travelling the country, looking for a baseball diamond he has seen in his dreams. He’s hoping that if he finds it, it will unlock more memories into his past.
Set on a sheltered ocean bay this time, Skydragon – Wave Breaker has Amber finally getting some rest after her adventures. Her caring nature is always present though, and when she meets a young boy with a love for marine mammals as strong as hers is for insects, she knows she must help him with a beach side mystery.
Reggie (Firefighter) is also telling his story, as he searches for answers into his past.
Although Amber uses darkness when she can, Skydragon has been clearly seen this time, amping up the background tension as her pursuers (Ferris and his agents) narrow their search for her.
Note: Although the townsfolk do their best at saving the dolphins and whale through cooperation and coordinated effort, here is a list from NZ’s own Project Jonah on important do’s and don’ts when finding a stranded whale or dolphin.
