After her run-in with the villain Money-Man, and meeting another teen called E-Boy with ‘gifts’, Amber and Irene are back on the road.Skydragon 4 Brave the Storm Book Review Cover Amber feels unwell and they decide to get her checked out at a doctor’s surgery. The diagnosis is concussion, the treatment, rest. Amber is frustrated but then horrified as she realises her link with insects has gone!

She has a choice to make. Go back to being a ‘normal’ girl, or try to get her communication with insects back. The decision doesn’t take long and they are on their way to Asia. They figure if she can be immersed in insects again, she might be able to reconnect with them.

Meanwhile, Reggie (The Firefighter) has been having dreams. They’re not bad dreams but they are confusing. He is much younger and playing baseball. Are they just dreams or are they memories? He begins to research, looking for clues to who he really is.

Before long, Amber and Irene are trekking into a jungle with a group of other tourists. This doesn’t go to plan, so Irene and Amber go to Plan B, unaware they will be rapidly caught up in jungle warfare helping an ancient tribe to rid themselves of diamond hunters.

Reggie is still wondering who he is, as Amber is rediscovering her preferred self. Will they ever meet?

Three viewpoints of Amber, Reggie, and Scarlet (the leader of a troop of mercenaries), take readers right into the action. Skydragon 4 has plenty of it. There are androids, net guns, poison darts, and deadly traps, not to mention an angry chief-to-be and a tribe’s secret to keep. But how will Amber do it all without the aid of her insect friends?

Keen to help her new friends regardless, she throws everything she has at people keen to crush the jungle in order to find diamonds said to be there for the taking. In the fight she achieves so much more than she ventured into the jungle for.

Reggie’s story adds intrigue as he moves a step closer to his past as higher powers plot to track down Skydragon.

With illustrations capturing the tension, action, and courage throughout the story, Skydragon 4 – Brave the Storm is one of the best episodes yet. The action continues with Skydragon 5, and will hopefully have some of the answers to so many questions. Are Reggie and Amber siblings? Can Amber stay out of the clutches of Agent Ferris? Will Reggie learn more about his past now that he has escaped?
