Beekle lives in a fantastical land with all the other magical imaginary friends, all waiting for their special someone to need them. Beekle waited and waited, watching other creatures fly off to children everywhere.

But where was his child? Surely they were out there somewhere? Unable to wait a second longer, Beekle sets out on a journey to find his special someone. At first he didn’t like what he found. He searched high and low, and just when he thought he’d never find that friend, they may just have discovered him instead.

I love other Dan Santat picture books, and this is no different. Bright, fun, illustrations to pore over and enjoy, finally take Beekle to where he needs to go, and also invite discussion about imaginary friends and / or how Beekle is  feeling along his journey.
