Siblings Julian, Dick and Anne are again at cousin George’s house at Kirrin Cottage, not far from their last adventure together. When aFamous Five Graphic Novel 2 Adventuring again stranger also arrives claiming to be an historian and architect working on Kirrin Castle, George is worried. She doesn’t mind the farmhouse and old cottage being renovated, but likes her run-down-castle-ruins just as they are thank you very much!

Things become intriguing when George learns a tutor has also arrived for holiday revision. She’s sure these men are connected somehow and decides to keep a close watch on them.

Meanwhile, her father Quentin has been working hard on a radar and communication project for the Ministry of Defence.

When the conclusion to Quentin’s work vanishes from his office, he quickly blames George. After an argument about her dog Timmy being inside the house, he asks if she was getting her own back?

With George’s usual tenacity, and some combined-cousin-clue-solving, they learn exactly where the missing report must be. They just had to find a way to get it back!

 

Originally published in 1943, this Graphic Novel format was first published in France in 2018, then translated into the new format. With lots of, ‘Oh golly, jolly good’s, oh dear’, and ‘well done lads’, peppering the story, the reader is cast back into the 1940’s with Julian, Dick and Anne, George and Timmy the dog.

There is mischief afoot, and the most respectable gentlemen around seem to be at the heart of it. A serious theft of important documents has occurred and The Famous Five are determined to get them back. Double-backed doors, secret panels and ladders, hike up the intrigue, action and adventure for these curious cousins. Anne also learns why George is a tomboy and respects her all the more for it.

In full colour and fast-paced, these graphic novels will attract a whole new generation of Enid Blyton Famous Five fans.
