Rabbit doesn’t want to go to bed. He’s not tired and that’s that. He quickly figures out it’s Dark that signals bedtime,
and if Dark doesn’t arrive he can stay up.
He pulls a clever trick on Dark, preventing him from coming out. Fox cubs, owls, and bats quickly complain. They need Dark to be able to play and hunt and fly. But Rabbit won’t give in – at least until the lack of Dark begins to affect him too. When Dark shows Rabbit the magical things that he is missing out on, Rabbit has to agree.
A lovely bed time story, but also a way to show young children about the cycle of a day. Rabbit is being selfish, but he soon sees that other’s feelings and needs to be considered too.
There is a surprise inside the story – do you want to see inside the pop up biscuit tin?
