Jack is playing his favourite computer game when his grandfather (Yeye) tells him something amazingTiger Warrior Book Review Cover but incredibly strange. Yeye reaches into his pocket and brings out a shiny, pale green disc with 12 animals etched around the edge. Each is an animal of the Chinese Zodiac. He passes it to Jack.

“You are the Tiger Warrior. You must take up your place and battle the forces of evil in the Jade Kingdom.”

Jack’s father died when he was young. He too was a Tiger Warrior and his father (Yeye) had stepped back into the role until Jack was old enough. Only minutes after this huge surprise for Jack, he is venturing into the Jade Kingdom to have a look around before he begins his official training.

Yeye would never have opened the portal if he’d known what terrible dangers awaited his grandson.

A mix of Chinese myth, super-hero action, new friendships, and discovery of a family secret, The Tiger Warrior is the 1st in an illustrated series.

The animals of the Zodiac add a whole new dimension – all with their own unique powers Jack can source when he needs them. A large, clear font and plenty of action is perfect for emerging chapter book readers and reluctant readers alike.
