Monsieur Charles’ Circus are on a break between shows and large towns. They get to stop and rest, but still need toTumbling Town Book Review Cover practice their routines and learn and develop new ones. Without the Big Top Circus Tent put up, they practise on the ground.

Kestrel is learning to be part of a three man stack. His dad and brother are the middle of this stack, but Kes is still struggling to stand on their shoulders. He just doesn’t trust himself not to fall.

When news of another circus (Rainbow Revels) nearby reaches them, they decide to set up a show day with them which also involves the public. These Circus Games are fun and locals can try their luck at greasy pole climbs, hula hoops and other tricks.

But, by the time they pack up and set off for their next destination, spirits are low. They haven’t even found the latest clue they need to enter the Circus Competition. Winning this ultimate circus competition could keep them all together when Monsieur Charles retires.

Will they find the clue they need? Where is Kestrel’s mum now?
