Twins Ellery and Ezra are on edge when they reach Echo Ridge. After all, it is the place their mother grew up. The mother that is now in rehab, sending the twins to stay with their grandmother who they barely know.

It’s also the place where their mother’s twin sister went missing years before and another home-coming queen was found murdered. Ellery’s fascination in True Crime is soon alerted, and she begins to try and piece things together. Things she’s been asking their mother about all their lives.

They are welcomed into school, with everyone already seeming to know who they are. Echo Ridge is a small town, and gossip travels fast. Small it may be, but its secrets run deep. If Ellery is finally going to learn more about her missing aunt, there may be more obstacles in her way than she’s ready for.

Someone is painting signs, hanging bloody dolls and splashing red paint around – all warnings for the new homecoming ‘court’ of teens. Another girl goes missing. The police are working on it, and Ellery believes they have it all wrong… Until she is the next victim. Will the truth ever surface from the undercurrent of lies of Echo Ridge?

Told from two viewpoints – Ellery, and Malcolm (brother of a teen suspect in the previous murder). This gives the reader a view into the history of the town, both new and old slowly revealing themselves until we know the truth. A 90’s style murder-mystery with a curve ball at the end!
