Terence and Frank are Turtles. Terence and Frank are rivals and everything is a competition – even falling off a cliff….Two Turtles Book Review Cover

They’ve always been rivals.

Shiniest shell? Fastest or slowest walker? Impersonating other animals?

No matter what, they are trying to out-do each other.

When a challenge doesn’t quite go to plan, even that turns into a competition.

One of them topples over the edge of a cliff. Do they panic? No. Do they worry? No. But a challenge is tossed to the wind…

“Bet I can beat you to the bottom!’

The other turtle can’t possible ignore that! He leaps…. and soon he is plummeting to the ground too.

Oh oh…

Can these two turtles possibly work together for a change? They are running out of time to decide…

This cleverly illustrated hardback is a delight. Beginning with a plummeting turtle, the reader is instantly engaged. Terence is falling, but why? How did he get there, and how far is he going to fall?

But instead of this becoming a tale of a terrible tragedy, readers will laugh out loud at the antics of two rival turtles.

Just like a particular fish character in one of author/illustrator Jon Klassen’s picture books, a bird watching these competitive creatures portrays all his emotions and reactions with an eye.

Entertaining to the last possible moment!
