High in an apartment block, there are two apartments side by side. In one is a boy who plays a violin. Next door is a girl who plays a cello.
Both young musicians practice on their instruments often, enjoying the making of music. Both have lessons to help them play even better.
But it is a little lonely.
One day, one of the musicians hears the other on their balcony and sends them a message over the wall in a folded paper plane. Inside is a piece of music. For the first time, these young musicians play together. Another piece of music flies back the same way.
Now playing together they know this is a much better way to play music. An idea comes to them in how to make their music ever better. By sharing it.
This lovely hardback has not only a story and illustrations it also has the pieces of original duet music that the characters play together.
Any young musician would love this picture book showing children making music, for not only themselves then each other, but for their community.
It’s the age old adage that music truly does bring people together.
