Effie isn’t happy being delivered to a stranger’s home in the middle of the night. The stranger isn’t very happy
either, suddenly becoming a guardian of her 11 year old niece who she has never met before.
Effie’s aunt Selimene is elderly and fiery and she lets everyone knows what she thinks of this new situation. She is old enough to be Effie’s grandmother, let alone her aunt. Luckily Selimene’s partner Carlota is calm, kind, and gentle, putting Effie to bed.
The next morning Effie and Selimene talk and they form a shaky truce about this unexpected change in their lives. As Effie gets to know her new guardians and the house they live in, she learns they are herbalists, also offering acupuncture to their clients.
When a famous pop-star arrives at the door one day with her entourage, Effie discovers that her guardians are much more than they let on. Living in this house has also begun to change Effie herself. Her fingertips are glowing! What is going on?
The excitement of the super popular pop-star under the same roof allays some of Effie’s fears. This talented, pretty and panicking musician needs Effie’s guardian’s special help!
This is the first in a graphic novel trilogy about an 11 year old girl finding out she is a witch. Living with two elderly witches brings something strange out in Effie. At first she’s terrified, but soon intrigued with possibilities.
